COLLATERAL - BROCHURES - SALES PROMOTION

Clinton Global Initiative

Problem:
We were honored to be asked to design the invitation and graphics for the first Clinton Global Initiative, a 3-day symposium of the world's leading business executives, scientists, health specialists, environmentalists, educators, and heads-of-state.

Solution:
The 22-page invitation we designed won the First Place (Gold) Award for Invitation/Brochure in the 2006 NJ Advertising Club annual competition. It included an invitation, an overview on the 3-day symposium, quotes from former president Clinton and world digitaries, historic photos, stock images, a perforated tear-out registration form, and a slipped-in letter from the President on his personal presidential-seal letterhead. The brochure was printed on 100 lb. heavyweight stock and the 138 lb. cover stock also had foil-stamped stars in the logo. It was bound with customized outside stitching. We also handled all of the printing.

Other pieces we designed included the save-the-date announcement, a 3-ring binder which held the 186-page program, signage, commitment cards and certificates, and all of the stationery.

Ferry Machine Corporation

Problem:
Although this client had been in business for over 55 years, they did not have a brochure that showed their capabilities. And, they had no photos of the products they produced. They desperately needed a brochure that showed prospective customers they are a 21-century company that manufactures high-precision CNC machined parts for numerous industries.

Solution:
We designed an 8-1/2" x 11" capabilities brochure based on the square grid of the logo which we also designed.
Working in conjunction with Interactive Marketing Group (IMG), who had assisted us in 'building out" Ferry Machine's website based on our design, we photographed all of the products in IMG's studio.

Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Center, P.A.

Problem:
Design a brochure for a medical group specializing in physical rehabilitation and pain management. It should explain and show the capabilities of their new 16,000 sq. ft. facility and the methods used by their physicians and physical therapists.

Solution:
We created a convenient sized slim-jim brochure with double fold-outs opening from the center. All of the photographs were taken at the facility by a professional photographer. We broke down the extensive text into smaller sections and intermixed it with groupings of photos. This helped the reader's eyes flow through the brochure while making it visually interesting.

Alliance Navigation

Problem:
Create a brochure that explains the capabilities of a new roll/on-roll/off ship to companies that must ship vehicles to the war zones in Iraq and Afghanistan via an American flag carrier. Because of the exclusive nature and cost of shipping this equipment, the client wanted to create a "quality-looking" brochure that looked expensive without blowing their budget.

Solution:
We chose to use a horizontal format for maximum visual impact of the main photo and other client-supplied images. The brochure was printed on a heavy-weight pearlized stock which added iridescence to the water and ship photos on the cover and back. All of the pictures literally glow. The paper also gave the brochure that feeling of quality they requested.

The Braff Group

Problem:
Create a unique-looking brochure that will help a new merger & acquisition company specializing in the home health care industry stand out from other financial companies.

Solution:
We designed a horizontal format brochure using natural landscape pictures rather than financial images to illustrate The Braff Group's philosophy and services. When placed in the folder we also designed, the brochure stands vertically with the message "On Your Side" showing above the folder pocket. The brochure won First Prize in the NJ Advertising Club annual competition.

Thermo Systems, L.L.C.

Problem:
Design a corporate capabilities folder and case studies using images to convey the various areas of business and services offered by this industrial automation firm.

Solution:
We created a multi-image attention-grabbing cover visual using royalty-free photos. The folder inside spread has a "blueprint" image background which fads out behind the copy. Images include a royalty-free photo, a screen capture from a graphics program used by the client, and a photo of a custom control panel, which we photographed.

We then created a template for the case studies using a portion of the folder cover graphic as well as CAD drawings and images from the client's graphics program.

Thermo Systems supplied all the copy which we edited and "romanced".

We also designed Thermo Systems' Web site: www.thermosystems.com

IMPATH Information Services
formerly Medical Registry Services Inc.

Problem:
We designed a 6-page corporate capabilities brochure in 1996 for this company that makes software for a very specialized market – cancer registry. This past year, we were asked to re-design the brochure and other collateral pieces to tell a more detailed story.

Solution:
The new 8-page brochure uses multiple photos of medical facilities and procedures, office environments, and graphic images of computers, in addition to charts and screen grabs from the software program, to convey a more detailed message in an eye-appealing format.

Elements of the brochure were also used to create a product sheet, advertising, poster and trade show graphics.

The design also became the foundation for their new website which we completely re-designed and maintained until the company was purchased by another firm.

US Open – US Tennis Association

Problem:
Graytor Printing, in Lyndhurst, NJ, asked us to design the 1999 US Open Ticket Subscribers Guide and Box Packaging for their client, the US Tennis Association. We were not allowed to use any official US Open photos because they would require celebrity players' and corporate sponsors' approvals.

Solution:
We created a 16-page brochure using generic royalty-free photos to add both drama and color to the pages.

The outer box and inner ticket boxes, which were printed in one color, used bold graphics of the US Open logo and tennis racquets and balls.

HMB Sales Inc.

Problem:
Design a new catalog for this sweater manufacturer. Shoot new sweaters and models and pick up some existing photos.

Solution:
We created a 20-page catalog, handling everything from concept through printing, including design, casting of models, photo shoot with a New York photographer, styling, set direction, all computer retouching, and coordinating printing from handing off of final discs to printer, to approving proofs for final print run, to supervising the printing on-site.
